What’s YOUR Type? AND Experience Ayurvedic Thai Yoga with Dr. Maureen Hughes. Please join Maureen Hughes, PhD, LMT, CATP, CTT for a powerful dual workshop to help you determine your Ayurvedic Prakruti and understand how to manage imbalances, as well as a demonstration of Ayurvedic Thai Yoga Therapy.

Ayurvedic Practices have been in place for around 5000 years. The belief that “Food is thy Medicine, and proper food is necessary for Medicine to work” are fundamental to this “Science of Life”. We will learn about the doshas and elements that make up our Prakruti, our innate constitution, and how imbalances manifest. You will also take a quiz to determine your constitution, and you will receive a list of foods congruent with balancing that Dosha Type. This list came from the same Ayurveda Center in India where she experienced PanchaKarma Detoxification on three separate occasions. She will also story tell about that experience.

Maureen will also be demonstrating a session of Ayurvedic Thai Yoga based off of a 1000 year old healing treatment regimen practiced to this day in Thailand, which is done fully clothed on a comfortable mat. This "Southern" style or Royal Method of Thai Yoga Therapy is not only performed on royalty, but is suitable for anyone of any age. Some people call it massage, but there are no oils or creams used. It includes stretching, compression, and the working of energy lines to open the body, relieve stress and tension, and to create an overall sense of joy, peace, and well-being. It helps inspire people to be healthier. Maureen also runs a school teaching SomaVeda Ayurvedic Thai Yoga, please check out

I took Maureen’s SomaVeda Thai 1 class and found it to be one of the most information packed classes I’ve ever taken. I personally like to feel that I get a lot more out of my classes than just CEUs. Maureen did not disappoint!
Maureen is also an excellent Massage Therapist. I do Crossfit on a regular basis and I’m terrible about stretching. Her technique has helped my body become more balanced.
