Thank you for visiting our site today. We will assume you are looking for Total Harmony, both inside and out.
My name is Maureen Hughes, PhD, LMT, CTT, CATP,
and I am one of the most highly educated
massage and bodywork practitioners in St. Louis, Missouri.
I am also an Integrative Health and Wellness Specialist and an Ordained Minster of the Native American Indigenous Church using the SomaVeda® Traditional and Indigenous Therapies. The work that I offer is about finding consciousness and connection through and with the body. This is ancient medicine. Where modern medicine and pharmaceuticals have failed, I have helped hundreds of people release their pains completely, lose weight, and regain mobility which has had a much greater impact on their lives than they could have ever imagined possible.
SomaVeda® also helps those that are healthy get even healthier!
I offer the SomaVeda® Therapeutic Day Program, which is a personalized blend of the following natural non-drug modalities: SomaVeda® Thai Yoga, Hatha Yoga Lessons (geared towards beginners), Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), Ayurveda Based Nutritional and Lifestyle Counseling, Reiki, Homeopathic Remedies, and Applied Kinesiology (Muscle Testing).
Getting the body in working order both physically and energetically takes precedence when starting the process of healing from any ailment including pain, diabetes, cancer, stroke/aneursym, alcohol and drug (ab)use, and pre-surgical and post-surgical recovery.
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? I can help.

The path of Integrated Wellness with Total Harmony is about the multi-faceted journey to look inside of ourselves and understand what is "right" for us.
I help people in transition. I help people at wits end. I help people regain their hope. I help people set goals for their health and keep them. Whether there has been the death of a love partner, a battle with cancer, stroke, trauma recovery, a need for weight loss, or a desire to remove alcohol and/or drugs from your life, there are many reasons to stop looking and join me on the mat for a SomaVeda® Therapeutic Day Program, featuring SomaVeda® Thai Yoga, which is like a "sacred dance" to release what you have been holding onto... that which has been holding you back.
Have you ever thought there must be something that goes beyond the gimmicks you see everywhere? Dr. Maureen had tried many of those gimmicks, and failed many times. Instead, she offers an approach that helps people embrace self-acceptance, understand the science behind toxicity and that chronic pain in the physical body is many times due to not only external influences. Again, being "healthy" is not just about looking good on the outside. Looking good on the surface comes along with feeling good on the inside.
“I always thought I was a healthy person, at least, it seemed like I was. Hindsight is 20/20. I started my journey into Wellness in 1996 when I stepped into my first yoga class in Chicago. Surprisingly (or maybe not surprisingly) I was sore 6 hrs after that class and I could barely move for 3 days-- I had no idea I was in such poor shape and I swore that I would never do yoga again. Then, in 1999 I started taking Aikido (a Japanese Martial Art: The Way of Harmonizing Energy), and at the same time while in graduate school at Washington University in St. Louis, my friend begged me to do yoga with her (because she said I was so stressed out), so I took the plunge and tried it. After 18 months, I was teaching it! Life happened and important decisions needed to be made. So, in 2006 I decided to enter the Biotechnology arena as a Technical Sales Representative, and left teaching yoga completely. With that lifestyle, the traveling (70% of the time), and meetings I honestly found it difficult to maintain a healthy routine (because I never liked going to the gym). Until 2013 I was mostly off the path of wellness. I had a great job in the Biotechnology industry but it wasn't fulfilling my heart and soul, although it sure was filling my pocketbook. I had reached rock bottom personally on many levels. But then I woke up -- and identifying my Soul's purpose helped me step back on the path, and this is where I reside today.
It is helping others on the journey of self-realization, and releasing the suffering of the past so that change can happen, that is what I am drawn to do. I offer this through SomaVeda® Thai Yoga and the other healing modalities I have been trained in. I am here as a humble servant to those who are ready to make a shift, and find value in this journey we call LIFE.”
